The next generation fire safety system is now available from Homeland Security Bureau's Technology Resource Center. our technoogy is a revolutionary new fire-safety process, that can resolve the complicated problem of fire safety in human occupied facilities and help minimize structural damage and death in terrorist attacks. This system is not only 100% effective in the prevention of, and the instant extinguishing of fire, but is absolutely safe for people, is user friendly and does not cause any damage to equipment or property. The system employs controlled oxygen depletion of air, creating a human breathable, low oxygen (hypoxic) atmosphere in which it is very difficult if not impossible, for a substance to ignite or burn. The system can suppress large and catastrophic fires and/or prevent fires, enabling occupants to evacuate safely. Fire supression relies on the total flooding of affected space with a breathable agent. The agent can be stored at a positive pressure in a fire-escape stairwell or in a pressurized container. The agent contains 12% oxygen, which corresponds to No Observable Adverse Effect Level (NOAEL), according to NFPA standard 2001. It can be engineered for preventative or suppressive mode, as well as a combination of both. The system can be for new buildings or retrofitted to existing structures. The technology can be configured to provide the ultimate in fire safety for any application, including aircraft, transportation tunnels, vehicles, nuclear power plants, mines and other industrial facilities, banks, museums, libraries, apartment and office complexes as well as hospitals, private homes and other human venues occupied for living, working, travel, sports entertainment and other activities.
