OVERVIEW
THE EGYPTIAN COPPER WORKS WAS
ESTABLISHED ON SEPTEMBER THE 26 TH, 1935 THE MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE
LINCENSE WAS ROLLING COPPER AND
BRASS TO SHEETS AND DISCS FOR HOUSE-
WARES AND GAS STOVES INDUSTRIES. AT THE BEGINNING THE ACTIVITY HAD
BEEN STARTED ON ONE ACRE, LATER ON, THE AREA WAS EXPANDED TO FACE MANY
CONSTRUCTIONS BEGINNING WITH ELECTRIC
AND NORMAL COPPER MELTING FURNACES
1N 1940. LESS THAN FIVE YEARS OVER, ALUMINUM
INDUSTRY WAS INTRODUCED INTO THE
COMPANY PRODUCTION LINES IN 1945 ( PURAL). IN 1950 STEEL INDUSTRY HAD
BEGUN BY CONSTRUCTING A FACTORY FOR
IRON AND STEEL ROLLING, AS WELL AS, A
FURNACES WITH CAPACITY OF 30 TONES. IN 1960 ALUMINUM FOIL PRODUCTION WAS
CONSTRUCTED AND THE SEMI-CONTINOUS
CASTING IN 1961, WHEN THE COMPANY
WAS COMPLETELY NATIONALIZED. HOWEVER, STEEL CONTINUED IN ADDING
UNITS AND FACTORIES IN IRON AND STEEL, COPPER, BRASS AND ALUMINUM FIELDS, SO IT HAD BECOME ONE OF THE FIRST
